Installing Flash Player 10 Beta
This is a quick run through of installing the Flash Beta 10. I’m installing it on OS X 10.5; the instructions vary a little between Windows, Mac and Linux, however they basically run along the same lines.
- First thing you do, before you can install the Astro beta, is you must uninstall any current version of Flash Player that you have. You can get the programs you need to uninstall the plugin from this webpage: http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_14157&sliceId=1
- Download and save the installer to your computer. You can download the Flash Player 10 installer from this website: http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/flashplayer10.html
- Run the installer. For me the installer comes as a disk image (.dmg) file, which you mount, then run the Adobe Flash Player package (.pkg). You have to close all your browsers before you can install it.
- After it has finished installing, you can test what Flash version you have installed here (http://flashplayerversion.com/) or here (http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/) it should appear as something similar to: 10,0,1,218.
And that’s it! You now have the Flash Player 10 Beta installed… so what now?
